Album Theme: To The Moon And Back. Listen to Apollo 11, Rocket Fuel, Astronaut Dreams and So Many Stars. All alone. In space. How does it feel to be an astronaut leaving everything in life behind in exchange for cold dark loneliness? How does it feel to blast off of the face of the Earth into the final frontier of the mysterious universe, where the silence is so loud, that it's ringing in your ears. What are the astronaut's last thoughts, when the spacecraft hatch is sealed with an airtight boom and within a couple of seconds, there's no turning back from another MISSION to the MOON.

Apollo 11

Moon Mission

In quiet contemplation I sit by the window, looking out over the cosmic void. The drifting thoughts and dusky dreams that echo in my mind give me a sense of the vast and ever-expanding universe, of which I am but a miniscule part. Soaring electric guitar and synth chords float over a bed of spacey pads, subtle bass and a laidback beat.

Rocket Fuel

Moon Mission

Escaping gravity is no mean feat. A huge amount of explosive energy is needed to propel a gigantic rocket out of the atmosphere on the back of a fireball. Not to mention the courage it takes to go along for the ride. A determined drum and synth bass groove, together with dancing arpeggiated synths, form the driving force behind a righteous electric guitar, aiming for the stars.

Moonward Journey

Moon Mission

Spinning, weightless, endlessly streaming in an ocean of dense, intense emptiness. The course is set for exploration and discovery, slowly but surely unfurling as the journey continues into the vast expanse. A solemn electric piano, shimmering pads and drifting synths surround a steady drum beat combined with skittering electronic rhythm, joined later by a touch of clean electric guitar.

Astronaut Dreams

Moon Mission

It's 3am. My astral body is floating above my sleeping body beneath me. I remember the dreams I had when I was young, when anything was possible and the greatest dream of all was to fly to the moon and back. Electric guitar, toy piano, gentle bass and swelling synth pads are joined by a light percussive rhythm and lead guitar.

Lonely Infinity

Moon Mission

A timeless frame of thought. Consciousness on a higher wire to celestial sources and inspiration of all that could ever be. A split second of lucidity, then nothing. Pure transcendence. A rotary organ, calming piano, electric guitar and subtle bass float among the stars, punctuated by the occasional light ride cymbal, before a gentle but steady beat brings everything together.

Space Voyager

Moon Mission

As the last lights of home disappear and we ascend further through the stratosphere into the vast expanse, the dark and powerful echo of truth resounds in the immense universe: we are not alone. A steady beat rests on a bed of warm pads, together with a solid bass guitar, psychedelic electric guitar and synth swells.

Honey Moon

Moon Mission

A warm summer full moon rises out of the oceanic horizon, filling the evening sky with glimmer and sparkling reflection of an endless pathway of golden rays. Glockenspiel, piano and reverse sound effects are joined by guitar, bass and a gentle backbeat, growing over a bed of subtle synth pads to a positive groove.

Many Moons Ago

Moon Mission

Endless and timeless lapses in memory. A space within space, floating in orbit towards a place yet unknown. A subtle, yet ever-changing path to exploration, in the vast illumination of this mystery that is life. A slow build of synth chords ushers in an emotive electric guitar, both drifting and evolving together in a slow-burning but meaningful sonic story.

Space Tech

Moon Mission

The trickle of crystalline liquid dripping off the icicles in the distance intensifies the earthen glow surrounding me, as I slowly spin on my own axis and let the mystery of the spatial radiance envelop me. A mathemetical synth arpeggio, shuffling beat, expansive synth chords and a phased-out electric guitar.

Humans On The Moon

Moon Mission

Dawn. From the rim of my cabin window on the space explorer I see the first glimmer of light. Drifting back towards a planet we call home. I can't wait, but I don't want this to end either. A minimal piano, glockenspiel, bass and guitar combo drift over a bed of synths, sound effects and wind/water atmosphere, before a steady beat and bass line add more movement.

The Countdown

Moon Mission

As night sets in all around, another revolution around the sun brings new identity, new hope and a balanced reaffirmation that we are all part of the same cosmic cycle. A bed of gentle pads, arpeggiated synth bass and organ, pulled together by a solid electronic beat, electric guitar and electric bass. A rototom-filled drum breakdown brings in a more rocky section in the second half.

So Many Stars

Moon Mission

Distant flickers, breathing embers, glowing gas all around. Too many to count, suspended in the vast firmament. Awesome and overwhelmed, I stand in silence, blissfully unaware that I too am a mere speck of stardust. A washed out electric guitar, synth pads, distorted swells and pulsing bass, punctuated by a subtle beat and steady muted piano.

Lunar Landing

Moon Mission

Space travel is a relentlessly solitary undertaking. The very idea of trying to discover whatever it is that connects us to the great mystery out there comes with the intense loneliness of being deprived of love and human touch. Melancholic drums, piano and bass, together with a gently wailing electric guitar and subtle synth chords, tell a lonesome tale. Space blues.

In Orbit

Moon Mission

Rays of moonlight catch the outline of a heron's wing. A silvery shimmer encircles the distant glacial silhouettes as the nightwatchmen take up their posts. Positive synth chords and organ lay down a bed for a gently picked acoustic guitar, bass and glockenspiel, together with a slightly glitchy electronic beat, acoustic drums and some electric guitar in the distance.

My Home Is My Spaceship

Moon Mission

Reflecting on how we've all emerged and come to be in this particular plane of existence, thoughts of warmth and wonder burst into every pore of my being. I can't help but feel an inescapable pride in how far we've come. Positive synth pulses, electric guitar and an upbeat rhythm section are joined by plucky synth hooks as well as synth string and vocal effects.

Moon To Mars

Moon Mission

Something's looming, watching, getting closer. In the trees, there's a grey and unfamiliar presence. As the clouds break and a silver moon shines through the haze onto the hilltop, the great migration begins. A groovy drum beat, growling bass and arpeggiated synth drives steadily forward over a bed of spacey pads and wonky effects, puncuated by electric guitar and synth layers.
