No more thoughts about his infatuation, his obsession and her rejection. He starts telling her how he's felt about her for so long. He's blaming her for flaunting her beauty, for simply being alive and so regrettably for her, not interested in him. He's staring into her eyes, he's looking straight into her soul, he's pointing the gun right at her heart, finally pulling the trigger and it takes only one bullet to end her young life.

The Chase

Didn't anyone ever tell her that it's dangerous for a pretty young girl to walk home alone at night in the city? She hears his footsteps right behind her, that's how close he's following and she starts walking faster. He can smell her fear and yet she won't even look over her shoulder to see him coming after her. Not even a quick glance. All the more rejection and that's why he feels she deserves to die. She's really running now, but he's faster in this race. Chasing after her with everything he's got. And in the split second it will take him to grab her, right then, a patrol car slowly cruises by. And the chase is over. For now. Electronic drama and suspense. Edge of the seat thriller. What will happen next?

The Stalking

He's been watching her get off the bus every day after the nightshift. He's tried so hard to make eye contact several times, but she always looks away. And so he waits for her again. Across the street from the bus stop. Her bus stop. Same time and same place. Haunting synths with menacing drum pad beats bouncing around in the background. Tribal tension building suspense.

The Confusion

He can't remember when his infatuation turned into an obsession. But he definitely remembers the first time she came into his room at the institution. He concludes that it was right then and there that this perfect girl had to become his girl. He had never been so certain about anything before in his life. Nobody else, and he means nobody, can have her except him. But why in God's name, did he get the feeling that she didn't feel the same way about him? He just can't understand that. And so, a premonition is born and we can assume that something really bad will happen to her. Because everybody knows that rejection is a hard pill to swallow. Layers of delicate electronic keyboard create a sense of eerie gentle tension.

The Plan

It's final then. He has a plan, he's made his decision. Because in his mind, it's the only solution. There is no way out, he can't cope with her rejection. Her complete lack of affection. Absolutely no attention. And to make matters worse, she's not even taking the bus anymore. Her boyfriend (!) is picking her up and driving her home every night. It seems as though she's completely forgotten about him. So what else is left for him to do but to kill her. His love has turned into hatred and resentment and for that she will have to die. He's convinced that it's all her fault anyway. Ethereal suspenseful synths build into a steady heartbeat. Let the chase begin.

The Weapon

And now he's thinking about how he will kill her and which tools he'll need for the task at hand . A gun to shoot her with? A knife to stab her to death? A rope to strangle her with? What kind of murder will this be? He's never done this kind of thing before, so he thinks that a gun will be a surefire thing. He's heard around that It's fairly easy to get one, so he heads out to the nearest superstore. Intrigue and suspense. Chilling, metallic synth pads, unsettling drone tones and locomotive breath.

The Night

This is it. Tonight's the night. He's pumped up and he's waiting for her boyfriend to drop her off at her place. He used to wait until she was inside, but this time he drives right up to the house before she even puts the key into the lock. Nothing can get in the way of his determination. After all, it's all her fault and not his. She deserves what's coming because if he can't have her, he's got to kill her. Everyone knows that, right? It will all be over soon. Slow sustained synths, weeping waves of sounddesign and nervous percussion. Chilling anticipation.

The Scene

There she is. She sees him and desperately tries to unlock the door but her hands are shaking so much that she drops the keys on the front steps. Her strength is no match to his and it's almost no effort at all to hold her mouth shut and pull her into the backyard. He's so shocked by the sheer beauty of her face and body up close that it nearly distracts him from getting the job done. Oh why, why, why did she ever grab hold of his desire and turn him into what he will become in a matter of minutes. He's holding the gun tightly in his hands. Dark and mysterious with everything just going around in circles. Uncertainty. Having second thoughts?

Mysterious and meticulous plotting that turns into a slow and steady groove with floating piano notes.

The Victim

Who is this stranger who appears out of nowhere and why does he want to harm her? And then she sees the gun pointed at her. Frightened to death, crying and sobbing and shaking, her knees buckle and she falls down. Paralyzed with fear and after the initial shock hits her that her life will soon be over, she faints into the darkness of her mind and sees the last few years of her short life flash before her eyes. Her last waking thought was that this is something that happens to someone in a movie but it's not supposed to happen to her. Piano notes dripping onto haunting synth pads. Behind the scenes.

The Blood

As if it were all happening in slow motion, he watches the bullet go straight through her delicate skin and watches her body fall to the ground, noticing that her eyes are still alive. He wonders how this can be and if he should shoot again when he notices the blood forming a red puddle on the ground. She's definitely dead now he thinks. Hypnotic & chilling synth layers and loops floating away on a steady beat. A captivating cliffhanger. What will happen next?

The Murder

His heart skips a beat and the sweat starts streaming out of his pores. Instant regret, what has he done? Now he realizes that he cant live without her and immediately points the gun to his own head. The Cops

And just as he's about to pull the trigger again, this time on himself, he gets distracted by the patrol car that's cruising by. They spot him in the garden and that crazy look in his eyes tells them all they need to know. The red break lights light up and in one split second, the cops jump out of the car screaming "Freeze and put your hands up over your head!" Uneasy and unnerving suspense. Cat and mouse chase.

2:49 · 130 BPM

The Body

The cops approach him and immediately spot the lifeless corpse of a pretty young girl lying in a puddle of blood in the cold wet grass. And they realize what's just transpired here. They have the midnight stalker on their hands that their police precinct had told them about. They weren't specifically looking for him just then, but that's how things go when you least expect it. Dramatic and disturbing with cold metallic sounddesign.

The Camera

Flash, snap, no chat, just a big bloody mess. No pretty pictures in this batch. Looking through them all, one by one. These images leave a lasting impression with the forensic department. Even the tough guys feel a little queasy. Nervous ticking and clicking camera effects. Suspenseful synth soundscape with erratic percussion and tribal drums.

2:51 · 150 BPM

The Investigation

Detective work progressing. Lots of clues now. Moving forward and putting all of the pieces of the puzzle together. Did the criminal know the victim? What were his motives? They pretty much caught him red handed at least, so he's being held without bail, but his lips are sealed tight. Shadowy crime and tension. Investigative thought processes.

2:28 · 100 BPM

The Family

This is always the worst part of a murder. You ring the doorbell, quite often in the middle of the night, and next, you hear the footsteps coming towards the front door. And then you're greeted with a quizzical expression and a trying hard not to sound worried, "Hello, can I help you?" And in an instant the screaming and sobbing and hysteria begin and the instant loss changes everything in their lives. Forever. Hypnotic, single note piano with sad strings entering @ 0:17. A heartbreaking story.
