Falso Bordone was an ancient form of contrapuntal composition, popular in the XIIth century. Here it represents an imaginary journey through Europe during the Middle Ages, involving hunting, battles, tournaments and courteous rests in ancient castles.

Fierce melody in minor key,. Quiet at the beginning, then louder and with richer arrangement. Slow crescendo of drums and percussive sounds. The middle section and the long final fade out feature strong percussions only.

Melody in minor key, suggestive of a leave or a farewell. Due to a shift of the tonality, from the middle section the melody grows in volume and richness, together with a martial snare drum repetitive pattern.
