Yann Lean

Yann Lean, real name Yannick Le Léannec, is a French DJ, composer, sound designer and sound engineer whose musical universe lies at the crossroads of techno, club culture and sonic exploration. Influenced by the scenes of Chicago, Detroit and London, he places groove at the heart of his musical approach, developing a style where rhythmic energy, electronic textures and meticulous sound design come together.

As a solo artist, his productions have led him to release music on internationally renowned electronic labels such as KMS Records and COD3 QR. Projects including Yosakoï, The Quest, Hope and Autumn 2023 showcase a techno sound that is both physical and immersive, earning support over the years from major figures of the electronic music scene such as Laurent Garnier, Derrick May, Dave Clarke, John Digweed and KiNK.

Yann Lean also develops the Trunkline project with Madben, exploring a raw, analogue approach to techno built around groove, texture and improvisation. On stage, the duo favours an entirely hardware-based setup, without computers, allowing them to build and transform their tracks live with a spontaneity reminiscent of a live band. This approach has resulted in several EPs and productions, including more recent releases such as Work It in 2024.

Alongside his artistic career, Yann Lean brings his expertise as a sound engineer to other artists and audiovisual projects. For PARIGO, he notably mixed N'Zeng's album The Trip, released in 2024, and collaborated with N'Zeng and Charlotte Savary on the track One Day.

Moving between composition, production, live performance and sound engineering, Yann Lean has developed a comprehensive approach to electronic music creation, where technical expertise and experimentation constantly serve movement, groove and sonic texture.
