Yann Jankielewicz

Yann Jankielewicz is a French saxophonist, composer, arranger and artistic director whose career reflects a boundless musical curiosity. Trained in both jazz and classical composition, he has developed a distinctive artistic language where improvisation, African rhythms, orchestral writing and contemporary music come together with remarkable fluidity.

Throughout his career, he has collaborated with a wide range of internationally acclaimed artists, including Tony Allen, Mano Solo, Sébastien Tellier, Alpha Blondy, Matthieu Chedid, Youssou N'Dour and Sandra Nkaké. His close collaboration with legendary drummer Tony Allen, for whom he served as musical director during the final years of his career, has had a profound influence on his musical identity, enriching his work with the rhythmic language of Afrobeat, jazz and improvised music.

Alongside his work as a composer for film, television and production music, Yann Jankielewicz has developed several personal projects, including the large ensemble Vaporetto and Keep It Simple, his debut album as a bandleader, recorded between New York and Paris with Jason Lindner and Josh Dion. Blending contemporary jazz, Afrobeat and rock influences, the album reflects a free-spirited approach to composition where groove, sonic exploration and melodic sophistication coexist with exceptional musical craftsmanship.

Driven by a constant desire for collaboration and experimentation, Yann Jankielewicz continues to create music without boundaries, bringing together performance, composition, production and sound direction into a singular artistic vision that is both adventurous and deeply expressive.
