Xavier Sibre
Xavier Sibre is a French multi-instrumentalist, composer and arranger whose musical journey bridges classical music, jazz, Afro-American traditions and contemporary creation. Trained from an early age at the Conservatoire de Pantin and later at the Conservatoire National de Région de Paris, he was awarded a Gold Medal in recorder performance before expanding his artistic language to include saxophone, clarinet, piano and synthesizers.
Over more than two decades, Xavier Sibre has established himself as a highly sought-after live and studio musician. He has performed and recorded with artists including Manu Dibango, Keziah Jones, Liz McComb, Ben l'Oncle Soul, Natalia M. King, Dédé Saint-Prix and Charly Aponte, moving effortlessly between jazz, soul, African, Caribbean and Latin music, as well as musical theatre. His artistic development has also been shaped by encounters with renowned musicians such as David Murray and Craig Harris, whose influence has deepened his approach to improvisation and composition.
Alongside his work as a performer, Xavier Sibre has developed a growing career as a composer for screen and production music. He regularly contributes to audiovisual projects, performs in the live film concerts of the Côté Court Short Film Festival, and recently co-composed The World Wedding March, an album produced and published by Parigo. The project reflects his affinity for refined orchestration, musical traditions from around the world and cinematic storytelling.
Driven by an enduring artistic curiosity, Xavier Sibre creates music where classical heritage, Afro-American groove, jazz improvisation and global influences blend seamlessly. Through each of his compositions, he combines instrumental virtuosity with a strong sense of musical storytelling, crafting rich, vibrant and deeply evocative sonic landscapes.
