Tcheep

Tcheep is a French beatmaker and producer whose musical universe is deeply rooted in hip-hop culture, sampling and the art of digging. Co-founder of the independent label Mutant Ninja Records, he has developed a highly personal approach to beatmaking over the years, shaped in particular around his SP-404, with dusty samples, boom-bap rhythms and lo-fi textures at the heart of his sound.

A prolific producer and tireless sonic explorer, Tcheep draws inspiration from an exceptionally wide range of influences, including East Coast hip-hop, jazz, psychedelic rock, traditional Eastern European music, as well as Middle Eastern and Indian sounds. This curiosity gives rise to instrumental music where warm grooves, evocative melodies and sonic experimentation come together to form an instantly recognisable identity.

His discography reflects this creative freedom. From the mysterious world of Technodrome and the psychedelic experiments of Acid Monsters Temple to the Eastern-inspired colours of Oasis Mecanic and the three volumes of Futuroscope, Tcheep constantly moves between beat tapes, instrumental hip-hop and cinematic soundscapes. Projects such as Biggie Bros. extend this exploration even further, bringing together lo-fi beats, hip-hop culture and video game-inspired 8-bit sounds.

Always in motion, Tcheep continues to explore new musical territories through new productions, including Mue, released in 2026. Combining sample culture, machines and a taste for unexpected musical crossovers, he embraces a free and instinctive approach to beatmaking, turning each track into a new field of sonic exploration.
