José Miguel Ortegón, better known as Sr Ortegon, is a Colombian composer, producer and musician from Cali, internationally recognised as one of the leading specialists in Latin production music. For more than twenty-five years, he has crafted a distinctive musical universe where Afro-Latin rhythms, tropical sounds and world music traditions meet contemporary production for film, television, video games and advertising.
Specialising in Latin American music and its many influences, Sr Ortegon creates compositions that combine cultural authenticity, rich orchestration and strong cinematic storytelling. Inspired by his travels throughout Latin America and Europe, he has developed a unique musical identity that blends traditional instruments, folkloric rhythms and modern production techniques into vibrant, emotionally engaging soundscapes.
His music has been featured in hundreds of international audiovisual productions, including Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (Academy Award® winner for Best Animated Feature), Rambo: Last Blood, Terminator Salvation, Lady Bird, Mechanic: Resurrection, Cobra Kai and The Simpsons.
