Schérazade
Schérazade is a French singer-songwriter from Béziers, now based in Paris. Classically trained from an early age before honing her craft in the city's piano bars, she has developed a distinctive songwriting style that blends French chanson, soul, 1960s and 1970s pop, yéyé and funk, all infused with a deeply cinematic imagination.
She first gained recognition through her reinterpretation of Ann Sorel's L'amour à plusieurs, before gradually establishing a refined and sensual musical universe while also building a successful career as a songwriter and topliner for other artists. Her contribution to Stromae's Ave Cesaria, featured on the acclaimed album Multitude, highlights the elegance of her writing and her ability to craft songs that are both emotionally resonant and widely accessible.
With the release of her EP Pink Flamingo, followed by singles such as Crise humaine and I Don't Wanna Sleep Alone Tonight, Schérazade further defined a musical identity where electro-pop, chanson and soul converge within sophisticated, nocturnal and highly cinematic soundscapes. Each of her songs introduces compelling female characters who embody freedom, vulnerability and quiet strength, blurring the line between intimate confession and imagined cinema.
Whether writing for herself or for others, Schérazade creates elegant, timeless music in which memorable melodies and finely crafted lyrics come together to form a uniquely evocative artistic universe.
