Maxime Raynier

Maxime Raynier is a French guitarist, composer and musician renowned for his work in surf rock and instrumental rock. Drawing inspiration from the great American surf bands of the 1960s, he has developed a distinctive musical language where reverberating guitars, memorable melodies and raw rock energy create richly cinematic soundscapes.

As a member of Les Arondes, one of France's leading surf rock bands, he has contributed to a number of acclaimed releases that pay tribute to the pioneers of the genre while bringing a contemporary perspective to its timeless aesthetic. Inspired by artists such as Dick Dale, The Astronauts and The Trashmen, his playing combines technical precision, melodic instinct and a deep appreciation for vintage guitar sounds.

Alongside this work, Maxime Raynier co-founded Les Cavaliers, a project through which he explores a more cinematic approach to surf music. Their album Surf Fiction, released by Parigo, evokes the spirit of classic film soundtracks, open roads and the imagery of cult genre cinema. He has also contributed to several other instrumental projects, including Les Braqueurs and The Suttles.

Across every composition, Maxime Raynier celebrates the evocative power of instrumental music, using the guitar as a storytelling instrument capable of creating vivid imagery long before a single frame appears on screen.
