Gerz Marcellino

Gerz Marcellino is a French DJ, producer, turntablist and visual artist from Maisons-Alfort. Rooted in hip-hop culture and the art of scratching, he first gained recognition on the DMC competition circuit in the early 2000s, before becoming French DMC Champion in 2003 and again in 2004, representing France at the World Finals in London.

Behind the decks, he quickly developed an open-minded approach to DJing, bringing together hip-hop, electronic music and club sounds. His career has taken him to stages across France and internationally, sharing line-ups with artists such as J Dilla, Kid Koala, Daedelus and La Caution. He has also performed alongside numerous figures from the French rap and alternative scenes, including Orelsan, Svinkels, Grems, Triptik, Kohndo and Gravité Zéro.

Alongside turntablism, Gerz Marcellino began developing his work as a producer in the mid-2000s through numerous mixes and projects, including Welcome, Welcome 2, Sport Elek Trop Beat and 7 3/8. Together with Dabaaz, he also contributed to the creation of Poyz & Pirlz, a project at the crossroads of hip-hop, club culture, graphic design and fashion. For PARIGO, he notably collaborated with Ugly Mac Beer on the track Hey Boy, featured on the album Caught In The Trap.

As a visual artist and graffiti writer under the name Gerz, he extends this same underground culture through drawing and graffiti, taking part in various collectives and artistic projects. Moving between turntables, music production and visual creation, Gerz Marcellino has developed a distinctive universe where hip-hop, electronic culture and visual arts constantly feed into one another, driven by a deeply independent spirit and a strong connection to urban culture.
