DJ Troubl

DJ Troubl' is a French DJ, producer and turntablist from Poitiers, whose career has spanned more than two decades across hip-hop, scratching and electronic music. A prominent figure in the turntablism scene, he first gained recognition through DMC competitions in the early 2000s, where his mastery of scratching and beat juggling established him as one of the most accomplished French turntablists of his generation.

Deeply rooted in hip-hop culture, DJ Troubl' has developed an approach to DJing in which technical virtuosity, musical selection and a strong sense of groove take centre stage. In parallel, his work as a producer has led him to explore hip-hop, bass music and electronic music, while collaborating with numerous artists and developing several projects under different identities.

In 2012, he anonymously launched UZ, a project that quickly became a major reference on the international electronic trap scene. His Trap Shit series helped shape the sound and codes of the genre, leading to a discography of nearly 200 releases and collaborations with artists including T-Pain, Ice Cube, DJ Shadow, Zeds Dead, Flosstradamus and Elliphant. After several years behind the mask, he revealed his identity in 2017 with the release of the album Layers. As the founder of Quality Goods Records, he has continued to develop UZ internationally, performing at major festivals including Coachella, Sónar, EDC Las Vegas and Ultra Music Festival.

Constantly exploring new musical territories, he also developed Rose Noir, a more organic project at the crossroads of jazz-funk, hip-hop and cinematic music, drawing inspiration from 1970s film scores and the foundations of hip-hop. This new facet of his work reveals a more instrumental and textural approach, extending his taste for experimentation beyond turntablism and electronic music.

His career has also crossed paths with PARIGO through several production music projects, including the albums Dubstep Anthems and Caught In The Trap. From scratching to trap, and from hip-hop to the jazz-funk explorations of Rose Noir, DJ Troubl' has built a constantly evolving career driven by the same ambition: to push the possibilities of sound while remaining deeply connected to the culture that shaped his beginnings.
