Blanka
Blanka is a French beatmaker, producer and sound engineer whose career has been shaped for over two decades by hip-hop, sample culture and sonic exploration. Born in Marseille, he is a founding member of La Fine Équipe alongside oOgo, Mr Gib and Chomsky, with whom he has developed a sound rooted in instrumental hip-hop and electronic music. From the early La Boulangerie releases to Fantastic Planet, 5th Season and Cycles, the collective has gradually established itself on the French and international electronic music scenes.
Alongside his work with the group, Blanka has been running his own mastering studio, Kasablanka Mastering, since 2006. Trained in sound engineering at SAE Institute, he has shaped the sound of several hundred records for artists including Onra, Chinese Man, Kool Keith, Guts, Wax Tailor, Fakear and Lomepal. For PARIGO, he also mixed and mastered the entire album Video Club, composed by Yann Kornowicz and Dan Amozig. This dual expertise as both a beatmaker and sound engineer plays a central role in his approach to production, mixing and arrangements.
His solo work allows him to explore a more personal side of his musical universe. Following projects such as Kasablanka, Hypnotic and Flares, he released Birds in 2024, an album at the crossroads of lo-fi and instrumental hip-hop, inspired by his move to the countryside in the south of France. Composed in the studio he built there, the album transforms the sounds and rhythms of the surrounding natural environment into musical material, and features collaborations with Onra, Sara Lugo, King Krab, De Phase and Papa Rua.
Still highly active, Blanka continued his solo explorations in 2026 with Faune and Me and You, featuring Moka Only, while reuniting with oOgo for Confiseries & Bain-Marie, a project blending their hip-hop and skate culture roots with house and UK garage influences. Moving between beatmaking, production, arrangements and sound engineering, Blanka has developed an approach in which sample culture, a strong sense of groove and meticulous attention to sound constantly feed into one another.
